Gravity Forms has just released their 1.7.3 update and it’s got a bunch of fixes that have found resolution for the 1.7 build. There’s a host of updates and fixes, including the following: Added JS filter: ‘gform_conditional_logic_description’ allows you to modify the descriptive HTML (i.e. “Show/hide this field if any/all of the following match”). Added JS filter: ‘gform_conditional_object’ allows you to modify the conditional logic object based on the object type. Added ‘gf_currency_config’ to gf_vars array, one step closer to deprecating gf_global array. Added gaddon JS object for use with the upcoming add-on framework. Added support for “tab_label” setting when […]
Now that’s a pretty sweet stat, isn’t it? We shared how there’s an uptick of the top 100 blogs out there that are using WordPress and one of the better known agencies, 10up, apparently supports 8% of those top 100 blogs! Of those listed, 10up has on their roster the likes of TechCrunch, 9to5mac, Deadline, Consumerist, and Hip2Save among others. Now that’s a killer client list if you ask me!
The title is my lame Thursday afternoon attempt at some humor but as I read it over and over again in my head it makes less and less sense, so I’ll go ahead and hit the publish button before I go insane. Via Bronson Quick, it appears that Google App Engine has launched their PHP runtime during I/O so that you can run WordPress directly on App Engine itself. They’ve even got a tutorial already live so that you can learn how to deploy a simple WordPress installation to the Cloud Platform. Make note, the tutorial assumes you know what you’re doing […]
When it comes to WordPress, one of the most exciting things about the platform is the variety of ways of which we can develop products on top of it. Aside fro the typical blog, there are options for theme development, plugin development, and even application developer. If you’re a budding WordPress developer and have a desire to learn to write a WordPress plugin from the ground up, then you’ve gotta check out the Envato workshop being held by our very own Tom McFarlin later this month.
Although Automattic is very much a distributed and virtual team they do have physical locations and offices for their employees to meetup and do their work, something that some news organizations seem to overlook. In a recent visit to their San Francisco offices, Peter Slutsky captured a few neat shots as he walked through the environment – check out those digs!
The crowd funding world is not slowing down anytime soon and it’s one of the more interesting concepts that’s really taken off in the last few years that hasn’t even reached critical mass. Thinks like Kickstarter and Indiegogo are taking off and so naturally WordPress-related themes have started showing up as well. Although I’ve shared some thoughts on the general industry as a whole there’s really no stopping this train as it’s definitely left the station for good. Well, one of the better and more well-known theme companies that had a very neat offering has not only gone through a rebranding process […]
The Genesis framework is one of the most popular WordPress frameworks out there being one of the go-to places for great designs, features, and customizations for consultants, contractors, and do-it-yourselfers alike. They just announced that the BETA offering of Genesis 2.0 is now available! For those that have a huge client list on Genesis this is something you’ll definitely want to test out on your local or test environment I’m sure. What can you expect in the pending release of the final release version?
Oh yeah, gotta love freebies, right? Flat design is starting to move into vogue-status (or is it already here? I’m not entirely sure…) and more people are focusing their attention on not just design but also implementation for their sites. I found 24 free icons for my own use the other day and I thought it was worth sharing this resource here for designers and developers alike!
It seems that things are getting more literal when it comes to the development of the Ghost blogging platform! In the update that just hit John O’Nolan just announced that they are going to meet up next week! This coming Tuesday, the 21st of May, Hannah and myself will be hanging out at Bounce London (http://www.bouncepingpong.com/) from 6pm onwards. We’d absolutely love to see any of you who fancy coming along for a drink and a chat. No agenda! If you’re in / around / near London – come and meet us and say hi. We’ve got tons of exciting plans […]
As many people had thought and as Code Garage has shared previously, all customers are being asked to migrate to VaultPress through their automated system in the next few months. This will essentially complete the acquisition that Automattic made back in December of last year. As of right now, no new signups are being offered by Code Garage and instead you’ll be signing up with VaultPress directly. For a time I thought that maybe both would co-exists, sharing technology best practices under two different brands and identities but it would see that folding Code Garage completely under VaultPress was going to […]
